Kohl’s Cares for Kids® is an organization that is family-focused and community-oriented.  Kohl’s is dedicated to improving local health and educational opportunities for children.  100% of the net profits from the sale of the CDs were donated to designated children’s hospitals.  Kohl’s Cares for Kids® produces CDs other than just Christmas.  Genres included in the CD series cover the whole scope of modern and world music.

The series of Christmas CDs started in 2000, and I remember buying my first one.  I was standing in line while checking out and saw it for sale at the register.  I had already started collecting Christmas CDs and for $5.00, it was a no-brainer.  I bought them every year.  Then I didn’t see them.  Later, while deep into collecting Christmas music, I researched them and found I was missing quite a few.  I was able to purchase them on Amazon.com and ebay.com.  I think I now have the complete collection.

At first, they started off as compilation CDs of popular Christmas songs from the last 50 years.  Then newer releases featured only two artists, but still older, familiar Christmas songs.  Some newer releases after that featured a single artist.  Ray Charles, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Mickey Mouse And Friends and Blake Shelton all got their own CDs.  And Trans-Siberian Orchestra had two dedicated Kohl’s Cares for Kids® releases.
