Your Hit Parade – Christmas Memories2007CD

Time-Life Music has been in the music business for a long time.  I am a big fan of Time-Life Music collections.  The first one I bought was Your Hit Parade.  I bought the whole 40+ CD collection in the very early days of my music collecting.  I got their Time Life Treasury Of Christmas, Volume One and Two, each with 2 CDs, very early in the days when I started collecting Christmas music.  Time-Life Music collections are known for containing the most popular recordings in that genre.  Unfortunately, most CDs only contain 15 songs, including their Christmas collections.

Many times, Time-Life will feature a Christmas CD with 2 CDs under a certain title, and then a set of 3 CDs, with 12 songs on each, under the same title or within the same series.  Often, I will buy both the 2 CD set and each individual CD.  I have found that though there are many repeat songs, there are a number of different songs between the sets, so I find it advantageous to own both.  Most of the 2 CD sets in a particular genre contain 40 songs and are a great deal money wise, and should satisfy most people who are looking to own a few CDs of the most popular Christmas songs.

Time-Life Music is known for releasing massive CD collections around one genre of music.  Early Rock & Roll, Classic Rock, Big Band & Hit Parade, Country, Jazz, The Sixties, The Seventies, The 80s, etc.  It is hard, or should I say expensive, to try and collect all the CDs in one particular series.  Most contain upwards of 40 CDs in each series.  Thank God, I only collect the Christmas portions of these CD sets.  And there is usually at least one double CD set or a series of 3 CDs in each genre of music Time-Life releases.

There are still a few I’m missing.  I need to digitalize what I have and see if there are any repeats in the Time-Life Christmas CDs I don’t already have.
